Mypy project core team member ethanhs tweeted that thanks to a recent commit from Python team core developer @ChristianHeimes , he found the right way to build the CPython master branch for the web.

Above is a screenshot of running Python in the browser.

Ethanhs said that although CPython has been successfully running in the browser, there is still a lot of work to be done. In addition, the script he built is also open source: https://github.com/ethanhs/python-wasm .

The father of Python “Uncle Turtle” also affirmed the project in the comment area . He also mentioned that it is possible to consider integrating CPython on WASM with github.dev to implement Python development in the browser.

Of course, some people don’t understand this project very well. He asked, why run Python in the browser?

Simon Willison, co-founder of Django , replied that the hardest part of starting to learn Python is installing Python, and this project has solved that problem. And WASM isn’t just limited to browsers either - it’s a very powerful sandbox, which means you can use it to run untrusted server-side code too.
