How to move and extend cast iron sewer pipes?

Recently, several owners have asked about the displacement and extension of cast iron sewer pipes, and I will talk about it today.

Cast iron sewer pipes are only used in old houses. The use of cast iron pipes as sewer pipes has many disadvantages. It is not easy to change the position. It is easy to rust over time, resulting in local water leakage, and it is still very difficult to repair. So now it is replaced by PVC pipe.

Cast iron sewer pipes cannot be replaced by themselves, unless the entire building or a unit is replaced.

In the era when cast iron pipes were popular, people didn’t care about the decoration function. At that time, there was no separation of wet and dry. Wherever the original pipe was, it was used to make a floor drain or press the toilet.

The current owners have strong requirements for decoration functions, such as dry and wet separation or a wall row, which involves the displacement and extension of cast iron pipes.

These problems are just a necessity for such owners. How to change it?

The change of cast iron pipes will cause headaches for many hydropower masters. First, it is really difficult to change. Cast iron pipes are generally made of pig iron. We also encountered that the wall of the cast iron pipe has been rusted very thinly, and it cannot be seen from the outside. We originally wanted to change this side, but the location was damaged during construction.

The second is the modification of cast iron pipes, usually with the help of professional accessories. These parts and the original pipes are fixed by rubber rings, which may be fine in a short time, but no one can say whether it will leak in a long time.

This method of using accessories is also the easiest and most effective solution at present. On-site wire opening is also a method, but the construction difficulty is relatively high, and the on-site conditions may not be easy to operate. The last method is to use glue around the embedded pipe. This method is suitable for exposed pipes, changing the position of the toilet, and changing the position of the floor drain. This method is definitely not acceptable.
