Can the window sashes of the bathroom and kitchen be made to open outward?

To answer a question from an owner today, the owner’s house is being renovated, and the original windows have to be replaced with new ones. The owner asked me if the windows in the bathroom and kitchen could be made to open outwards.

The owner did not elaborate on this issue. There are two types of windows that open outwards. The first is to open flat and the second is to push out.

I don’t know which of these two methods the owner wants to make, so let’s talk about the advantages and disadvantages of these two types of external openings.

Let’s talk about the first type of outward-opening casement. The window is made in this way, so that it does not take up space in the home, and the window sash is opened to the outside, and there is no need to worry about the window sash hitting the body. However, this method of opening windows is prohibited by high-rise residential buildings, because it is dangerous when opening and closing the window. When opening and closing the window, the head sticks out or the arm is stretched out. In case something falls from the upstairs, the There is a risk of injury to the owner.

This way of opening windows is not necessary for high-rise residential buildings. If your home is a villa, and the two or three floors above and below are yours, this method is no problem.

The second method is extrapolation. There is no problem with this method. Now many developers have made such a window in the bathroom.

The advantages of this kind of window are: first, it does not take up indoor space; If it is blown by the wind, it will not happen if the extrapolation is made.

This extrapolation method also has two disadvantages. One is that the opening is relatively small, and the opening angle of the window generally does not exceed 45 degrees. If someone needs to go out from the window to work, this kind of window is inconvenient. Every time the push-out window is opened and closed, the indoor screen must be pulled open, which is a bit troublesome in operation.

Although there are some advantages to opening the window outwards, I still recommend that the windows should be made to open sideways as much as possible, which requires a large amount of ventilation. Directly open the sash, which requires a small amount of ventilation, and can be opened inward.
