Can a toilet shifter work? Which shifter to choose

Answering a question from an owner today about the toilet shifter. The owner chose the toilet shifter, but the shifter was wrong. When the shifter took over, the difference between the pipe and the shifter was There was a gap between them, so the owner was very worried.

There are two types of shifters that we commonly use, one with a diameter of 13.8 cm and the other with a diameter of 11 cm.

The usage scenarios of these two shifters are different. Let’s start with the first shifter with a diameter of 13.8 cm.

With this kind of shifter, the top edge of the pipe should be flush with the tile surface after the shift, and there is no need to take the pipe up, just install the toilet directly.

The second type of shifter is 11 cm in diameter. This shifter does not require installation conditions. After installation, the shifter can be placed under the tile or flush with the tile. If the position is too low, you can connect another section 11 cm of PVC pipe.

These two shifters do not say which one is good or which one is bad. As long as the construction is in place, either one can be used.

The owner also mentioned a problem that when the pipe is piped up on the shifter, there will be a gap between the pipe and the shifter.

The reason for this problem is that the shifter and the tube are not produced by the same company, and the product size may not be standard.

We have also encountered this kind of problem before. After a batch of 50 tubes and 50 elbows are used, the amount of frame between the elbow and the tube is particularly large, and it cannot be completely firm after being smeared with glue.

The material of the shifter and the pipes to be connected are all PVC, and the joints need to be coated with PVC glue. As long as the gap in the middle is not larger than one or two millimeters, it will be very strong after the glue is applied.

Finally, let’s talk about the choice of the shifter, try to choose an integrated type, there is no connector, the inner wall is smooth, and it is convenient for sewage discharge.

The shorter the shifter, the better. If you use a flat tube, in principle, it should not exceed half a meter, and you must pay attention to the slope when laying the tube.
